Welcome to our little neck of the internet! The internet is a really large place– but everyone wants their little corner. I’ve claimed mine, right here! I’m glad that you found it! I’m excited to share our life with you all… this location will be the little hub, Here you will find my blogging adventures. You will also find links to our other venues on the internet. I hope that you will check them all out.
I would also like to take a few moments to introduce our “little” family to all of you! We are on the larger size for families in our area but we didn’t start out that way. We blended together to become that way! I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our family consists myself, Jessica (Jess). I am 34 years old and I am the main author (and videographer) here. I work full-time and I am attending school full-time (again). I already have my Associates degree in Business (Healthcare Administration) as well as my nursing assistant certificate. I’m now in school for Accounting (something I really enjoyed in high school). My partner in life is Shawn. He is 42 years old and my wonderfully supportive husband. He works full-time. He has completed his HVAC certificate (but doesn’t use it right now for various reasons).
We have been together for 3 years– but we have “officially” been blending since August 19th, 2016 (in other words, we got married). It was one of the best days of my life… It was perfect! But with that, we officially joined together our children as one family. I brought three children and he brought two children. We don’t have (and won’t have) any additional “our” children– but we already don’t have a “his” and “her” family anyways!
Our children are mostly teenagers now. It’s crazy how much they have grown and changed, even since we have been together! So– let’s do the quick introductions of our children. Morgan is first. She is 18 years old and a senior. Her birthday is November 8th. She recently moved in with her mother– so there is a fine line that I follow as far as what I share (privacy as children get older and also when they aren’t present can get blurry). Everyone else lies with us full-time. Laura is second. She is 17 years old and a junior. Her birthday is August 17th. She seems to be focused a lot of veterinary technician right now (even to be taking classes in high school for it). Hailee is third. She is 15 years old and a sophomore. Her birthday is January 7th. She is really outgoing with all kinds of activities through school. Currently it seems to be JROTC, Color Guard, Math Team, and Speech Team. Right now her goal seems to be set to the military! Caleb is fourth. He is 15 years old and a freshman. His birthday is October 3rd. He’s very artistic but kind of shy about it. He also loves electronics. It’s hard to tell where he’s going to go in the future– but he has lots of options. Matthew is fifth. He is 12 years old and just began his junior high experience (here that is 7th and 8th grade). His birthday is January 16th. He has been diagnosed with Failure To Thrive but is growing at his own rate. He is so active– and his interests change by the day. Everyday he has found something new that he wants to learn about or do.
We also have three fur babies in the house. This will be the only fur-babies that we have at this point. We have a mixed breed dog named Luka. He’s about 4-5 years old now. He’s a very anxious dog most of the time. He can be overwhelming at times. We have a grey cat named Kallie. She is probably about 2 years old now. She came to us from another family (who I believe lied about her background). She was very mean when she first came to us– but has calmed down a bit over the years. You still have to watch her because she seems to be a little bi-polar. The last fur baby is Patchie (who ironically is a calio cat). She is about a year old now. She is pretty friendly but very much cat like– likes to hide a lot but likes to also cuddle at times.
